Other minds problem.

For a one year old, shadows are exciting.
And when they do observe their own shadows, they point you towards it. They run back to their parents expecting them to be equally excited.
This is a kind of “the other minds problem”.
What is new to me, is new to you. What I like, mommy and daddy must also be liking.
Obviously as we grow and as we start gaining more and more experiences, we learn and stop reacting to shadows.
We become more empathetic towards others, their experiences and their beliefs.
But do we?
